DIY ENGINEERING PRINT ARTWORK

DIY engineering print artwork - how I printed my artwork for under $5

Artwork is one of those things that I'm pretty picky about. I like large statement pieces that are minimal, but most importantly - cheap! We recently added some artwork to our living room walls and today I'm sharing all the details so you can recreate your own version in your home!

Let's get started!

We searched high and low for reasonably priced abstract art and ended up going with a digital download we found on Etsy from Little Valley Studio. If you're not familiar with digital downloads, all you have to do is purchase the listing on Etsy and you will instantly receive an email with a link to download the product you just purchased. From there you can take it to your local print shop to have it printed in the size that you want.

We chose these prints and love them! They're abstract but they still show a beautiful forest scene which goes perfectly with our modern, outdoorsy style home.

We went to FedEx Office to have them printed on 24"x36" engineering prints. (You can also go to Staples.) Engineering prints are BY FAR one of the cheapest ways to print large scale prints. I've used engineering prints for countless projects and love how they turn out every time! Pricing may vary depending on your location and the print shop you choose but we got two very large prints for just $4.50 a piece! So. Dang. CHEAP!

I had a very specific look in mind so I ended up making my own frames. If you want to know how I made them I put together another DIY post sharing my step by step instructions on how to build my modern, minimal style frames! Check it out here. If you're not up for making your own frames I'd suggest checking out Hobby Lobby, Target, or Framebridge for your framing needs!
