GLOBE PATENT PRINT

Arthur Schrenkeisen saw the need to enhance the value of the globe as it was a significant observation tool for learning about the earth.  To increase visibility of the fine details, Schrenkeisen invented internal illumination of the globe.  To enhance the illumination, the globe itself was made of glass (or other translucent material) with a map also made of semi-translucent material.  His designs were filed on December 11, 1918 and patented on April 6, 1920.
